A christening cape is a traditional garment worn by infants during a christening or baptism ceremony. The baby gets a white robe as a symbol of spiritual protection and purity from the Godmother during the baptism itself. In many families, the cape is an heirloom piece, passed down through generations. It's also usually considered the most essential piece of clothing in the christening ceremony.

Care: It is best to wash by hand or set the delicate washing program in the machine. The stains can be removed with stain soap before washing. Wash the garment inside out, gently wring it out, shape it into a form, and hang it to dry. It is better not to dry it in the dryer - although the linen softens in it - it can shrink too much and form creases, while linen clothes dry quite quickly naturally in a warm room or outdoors, simply hanging them on a hanger. Iron damp with steam if necessary.
